Our family-run Hotel Hemizeus & Iremia Spa is located in the quiet, sun-drenched Winkelmatten district – slightly elevated, with an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn. The location on the southern edge of Zermatt combines tranquillity and far-reaching views with proximity to nature.
In winter you can enjoy real ski-in/ski-out: directly from the hotel to the piste and back to the front door in the evening. In summer, the day begins with a view over blooming alpine meadows – and perhaps ends with a tour that starts right outside our door. The Hotel Hemizeus consists of four interconnected houses arranged around an open sun terrace – with an unobstructed panorama of the mountains. This is where our guests meet for breakfast in the sun, for a cup of coffee in the afternoon or simply to let the day unfold.

If you’re in the mood for exercise, you’ve come to the right place. In winter you can enjoy real ski-in/ski-out – out of the ski room and onto the slopes. In summer, hikes and bike tours start right at the hotel.
Many guests appreciate exactly that: no shuttle, no planning – just set off. Mountaineering, climbing, snowshoeing or paragliding – Zermatt offers variety for all those who like to be outdoors. And afterwards, warm water, a soft bed and a peaceful view await you inside.

Hiking
More than 400 kilometers of marked hiking trails criss-cross the Zermatt region – from quiet forest paths to panoramic high-altitude routes.
Blooming meadows, clear air, the Matterhorn in view: Those who hike here experience the mountains with all their senses. Many of our guests say that they have rarely been out and about in such a varied and direct way – and would have liked to stay a day longer.
Mountain biking
The bike path to the Moostrail starts just 100 meters from the hotel – a perfect starting point for sporty altitude meters or enjoyable round tours.
You can reach the Matterhorn Express valley station in just a few minutes. From there, the cable car takes you comfortably to the Schwarzsee middle station at 2,583 m. The subsequent 12.7-kilometre descent back to the village offers riding fun with panoramic views – ideal for beginners and experienced bikers alike.
Mountaineering and climbing
Around Zermatt, 38 four-thousand-metre peaks tower into the sky – including the legendary Matterhorn. Anyone looking for altitude will find an alpine playing field here that is unique in Europe.
The via ferrata above Zermatt is particularly popular. It consists of three sections with different levels of difficulty and is ideal for anyone who wants to safely immerse themselves in a rock adventure. We will be happy to give you further tips in person.

How do I travel to Zermatt?
Arrival is by car or train.
Zermatt is a car-free resort – you have to park your car in the suburb of Täsch. By reserving a room you will receive an exclusive 5% promo discount at Parking Schaller.
You can then reach Zermatt by shuttle train or by cab, which has a special permit to drive to the entrance to Zermatt
