Our family-run Hotel Hemizeus & Iremia Spa is located in the quiet, sun-drenched district of Winkelmatten – slightly elevated, with an beautiful view of the Matterhorn. Its location on the southern edge of Zermatt combines tranquility and panoramic views with proximity to nature.
In winter you can profit from genuine ski-in/ski-out access: head straight from the hotel to the slopes and return to the hotel in the evening. In summer, start the day with a view of blooming alpine meadows – and perhaps end it with a tour that starts right outside our door. Whether hiking, biking, or simply relaxing, with us you can experience Zermatt actively – without stress or detours.

The Hemizeus Hotel consists of four connected buildings arranged around an open sun terrace with unobstructed panoramic views of the mountains. This is where our guests gather for eating breakfast in the sun, a cup of coffee in the afternoon, or simply to reflect on the day.
Inside, you will find a warm, alpine atmosphere: lots of wood, clean lines, subtle colors. Our rooms combine genuine comfort with the feeling of having arrived in Zermatt – close to nature, close to the Matterhorn, close to yourself.

Hiking
More than 400 Kilometers marked hiking trails pull through the region of Zermatt – from the quiet forest path to the scenic high-altitude route.
Blooming meadows, clear air, the Matterhorn in view: hiking here allows you to experience the mountains with all your senses. Many of our guests say that they have rarely been on such a varied and immediate trip—and would like to stay an extra day.
Mountain Biking
The bike path to the Moostrail begins just 100 meters from the hotel—a perfect starting point for athletic climbs or enjoyable round trips.
The Matterhorn Express valley station is just a few minutes away. From there, the cable car takes you comfortably to the Schwarzsee middle station at 2,583 m. The subsequent 12.7-kilometer descent back to the village offers biiking fun with panoramic views – ideal for beginners and experienced bikers alike.
Mountaineering and climbing
Around Zermatt, 38 four-thousand-meter peaks tower into the sky – including the legendary Matterhorn. Those seeking altitude will find an alpine playground which is unique in Europe.
The via ferrata above Zermatt is particularly popular. It consists of three sections with varying degrees of difficulty and is ideal for anyone who wants to safely immerse themselves in a rock climbing adventure. We would be happy to give you more tips in person.

How do I travel to Zermatt?
You can travel here by car or train.
Zermatt is a car-free town – you must park your car in the suburb of Täsch. When you book a room, you will receive an exclusive 5% promotional discount at Parking Schaller.
You can then reach Zermatt by shuttle train or by taxi, which has special permission to drive to the entrance of Zermatt.
